Works in series is a group exhibition launching a portfolio of original works by Caline Aoun, Matt Calderwood, Martin John Callanan, David Cunningham, Susanna Heron, Alistair McClymont, Rie Nakajima, Giorgio Sadotti, Daniel Sturgis, Shaan Syed and Serra Tansel.

The works in series presented are documents, artefacts and works on paper produced by the artists as part of their studio practice. As such they represent key thought processes and creative motivations of the artists, often feeding directly into larger scale works.

While some works follow conceptual series, such as Martin John Callanan's legal document that certifies his existence and David Cunningham arrangement of the alphabet where no two letters appear in alphabetical sequence others are more loosely bound by pre-occupations in the studio. Boulder Shifts by Daniel Sturgis are works on paper whose concerns lay in the weight of balance and tension in flat geometric boulder shapes, these same shapes make up a series of his Boulder paintings.

As a small-scale project space in East London noshowspace works closely with artists in a co-dependent relationship. It is out of this resolve to make exhibitions happen that works with real intrinsic value and integrity have been released directly from the artists studio. Sales from the series equally support the project and artists concerned.

The portfolio is available to view year round at noshow project space and online at www.noshowspace.com/shop with original works presented side by side. Prices range from £90 to £2500. The portfolio will continue to evolve and grow in response to the gallery programme.

Exhibition open by appointment.
