Giorgio Sadotti, From Navel to Nipple Ruth Crilly Rankin Deliciae Vitae Spring 2003

From Navel to Nipple Ruth Crilly Rankin Deliciae Vitae Spring 2003 is Giorgio Sadotti's first work in the From Navel to Nipple series of works that he began in 2004 and continues to this day.

The work is cut from the magazine Deliciae Vitae, Spring 2003 edition, from a photograph taken by Rankin of model Ruth Crilly. A circular hole is cut using the navel of the model as the centre point with a radius that extends to her closest nipple. The cut-out of the magazine page reveals a second model on the following page, forming a cut-out collage. The magazine is completely intact presented in a clear, sealed perspex box that encapsulates the magazine with just enough space to retain the fold of the open magazine pages. The magazine can equally be viewed by turning it over and viewing the cover pages, emulating how it may be left open on a table.

Giorgio Sadotti exhibited From Navels to Nipples Henry Moore between 2 May - 3 June 2006 at the Henry Moore Institue.
